The Chairman of the Selangor State Standing Committee on Islam, Consumers and Halal Industry, YB Tuan Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni officiated the Selangor State Consumer Carnival 2022 Celebration which took place at Central i-City, Shah Alam today.

He said, the Selangor State Consumer Carnival Celebration 2022 is in line with the National Consumer Day Celebration with the theme of the celebration is ‘Consumer Digitalization’. Therefore, the focus of filling programs/ activities during the Selangor consumer month celebration this year is to produce ‘Smart and Arif Selangor Consumers’ in the era of digital transactions, this focus is very much in line with this year’s theme of Consumer Digitalization, “he said.

He explained that the Selangor Consumer Carnival held on 19 and 20 March 2022 at Central I-City Shah Alam from 10 am to 10 pm with various interesting content such as Consumer Pocket Talk, Consumer Digital Forum: Halal Cakna Consumers, Consumer Quiz, Selangor Healthy Consumers : Zumba & Aerodance in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth & Sports (KBS), Small Consumers: Children’s Coloring Activities. users in real-time, delivering usability info interactively and casually.

This approach aims to attract consumers’ interest and commitment to consumerism in order to produce ‘SELANGOR WISE CONSUMERS’ and ‘WISE CONSUMERS’. Selangor, Friday Sermon Reading with the theme of consumer awareness was delivered throughout the mosque on 18 March 2022 (Friday), Selangor Consumer Fun Walk (SCFW) on 1 April 2022 (Friday) at 8 pm at the Sepang Circuit and Price Catcher Application Literacy Advocacy and Selangor Consumer Carnival .

“It is my hope that such strategic involvement and cooperation can be maintained and continued as a joint effort to strengthen consumer education. “I also encourage the involvement of cooperation from private agencies such as the Sepang International Circuit which is also involved in the Selangor Consumer Fun Walk program at the Sepang Circuit on April 1, 2022.

The Selangor branch of the National Consumer Action Council (MTPN) also participated during the carnival where they introduced a booth related to the application “Idenfic” (No Way Scam!) Where this program helps consumers to avoid and reduce the problem of being cheated by the merchants.

Apart from that, a Forum entitled “Cyber ​​Consumer Rights” was also held which was one of the events of the National Consumption Human Rights Carnival Series 2022 organized by the Selangor Department. The host of the forum was Lin Ying, vice -president of the Klang branch of the State Legislative Assembly.

Meanwhile, Preetha Muniandy, MTPN Special Officer together with MTPN representatives, also appeared in the forum to discuss topics related to the application “idenfic, No Way to scam!” to introduce how the “idenfic” mobile software application can help users avoid and deal with

the problem of being deceived by sellers.

MAJLIS PENYAMPAIAN ANUGERAH CONSUMERS’ CHOICE AWARD 2022

The Consumers ’Choice Award 2022 Presentation Ceremony organized by the National Consumer Action Council (MTPN) was held at the Loon Sing Convention Hall Taman Daya recently. The ceremony was officiated by Ybrs. Tuan Nor Affendy bin Abd Khalid, Senior Principal Assistant Director, Human Resources Division, Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, Ministry of Home Affairs.

MTPN has selected 39 companies from various industries as winners at the event through a strict and transparent assessment and auditing process.

“The Consumer Choice Award is an initiative (MTPN) to identify businesses that provide superior services and integrity to consumers,” said Tuan Masrudi bin Abd Rahman, Secretary General of MTPN while giving a welcome speech on behalf of Datuk Paduka Dr. Kevy Ky Yeo, National President of the National Consumer Action Council.

“This prestigious program can promote business excellence in Malaysia as well as identify and educate traders on the importance of maintaining an ethical business. This Consumer Choice Award can also help local businesses to get special recognition which is the standard of consumer choice, ”he said.

The National Consumer Action Council would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the award -winning companies and hope that they will continue to innovate and strive to bring more quality services to Malaysian consumers in the future!

Kunjungan Hormat Ke Malaysian Medical Council (MMC)

Members of the Selangor MTPN Council paid a courtesy call on the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) and were welcomed by YBrs. Dato ’Dr. Mohd Khairi Bin Yakub, Chief Executive Officer of MMC. MTPN led by YDP MTPN Selangor – Dato ‘Dr Gavin Voon. Also present, EXCO Consumer Complaints – En. Alston Tan, Deputy YDP MTPN Selangor – En. Gilbert Pang, Selangor MTPN Secretary – En. Eddy Soo and Assistant Secretary of MTPN Selangor – En. Henry Lim

This courtesy call is intended to seek advice on cases of consumer complaints related to the services of clinics and doctors who do not follow appropriate procedures against their users.

PROGRAM KERJASAMA ‘PROJEK PRIHATIN UMCCed

As a result of good cooperation between UMCCed, the National Consumer Action Council and Yayasan Amal Malaysia for this program last Friday, thank God the program can run smoothly and all contributions provided can be presented well.

A total of 300 recipients of donations around Raja Laut Road, Chow Kit were successfully collected and handed over donations in the form of food, basic equipment and personal hygiene materials.

MTPN is pleased to be able to work with the organizers to run this glorious program. Many thanks to the sponsors and to everyone involved for making this program a success.

We hope that such programs can be expanded and continued every year. Hopefully with the existence of community activities like this, to some extent can ease the burden of those in need as well as can foster harmony and well -being in community life.

National MTPN President Dato ‘Paduka Dr. Kevy Yeo led a courtesy call on the KPDNHEP office in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations between the MTPN and government agencies.

Participating in the visit were MTPN Secretary General, Tuan Masrudi Abdul Rahman and MTPN National Vice President, Dr. David Ng Kung Wei.

Hopefully this meeting is a good start between MTPN WP Kuala Lumpur to work with KPDNHEP WP Kuala Lumpur in formulating a better quality plan for 2022 for the benefit of consumers.

According to Dato Paduka Dr. Kevy KV Yeo, President of MTPN, The 𝑩𝑰𝑭 Award is an award to give recognition to small entrepreneurs who have worked hard throughout their lives but no one sees their efforts in developing and raising the name of the company.
He hopes that more entrepreneurs will value harmony and prioritize consumer rights throughout their careers, while using their wisdom to influence others and be an example in the business world.
The President also hopes that this award will continue to receive great support from the community up to the international level. In addition, he sees 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑎 𝑃𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑠 very meticulous in handling consumer rights issues where it is in line with the objectives of the award. So, this cooperation can help both parties achieve a great publicity effect while increasing the people's awareness of MTPN.

Program Jelajah Ramadhan MTPN has been successfully implemented as a result of the cooperation of the 4B youths in the tebrau area, namely Majlis Tindakan Pengguna Negara (MTPN).

President of MTPN, Dato’ Paduka Dr. Kevy KV Yeo expressed his highest congratulations for the efforts of each individual and party directly and indirectly involved in the success of this glorious program. According to him, this program will be extended to all MTPN branches throughout Malaysia every year with the hope that we can together help ease the burden of the surrounding community.

The team of Johor Bahru has delivered a total of 205 donation boxes in the form of daily necessities. Thanks to all the contributors. Thank you to everyone who cooperated with us in making this program a successful.
