A registered consumer association working on consumer protection, education and advocacy, with experience built in Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, India, China, Japan, the United States and Germany.

History
Milestones
Key moments in the growth of WCA and its programmes.
- 2014
WCA registered
Registered in Malaysia to raise consumer awareness, strengthen self-protection and handle complaints against unfair business practices.
- 2015
InterCO founded
The International Consumer Intelligence Unit was set up in May as WCA’s enforcement unit for cross-border action against illegal business practices.
- 2015
First World Consumers’ Trusty Brand Award
WCA launched its first international award recognising trusted brands and business excellence.
- 2015
First Committee Members Meeting
WCA’s first committee members meeting, and participation in Festival Pertubuhan Kebangsaan 2015 organised by the Registry of Societies Malaysia.

Community programmes
Consumer awareness in markets, a health outreach at Kampung Orang Asli with the Ministry of Health in Johor Bahru, and charity visits and a charity run with YMLM.

Consumers’ Choice Award
MTPN selected 39 companies through strict assessment to promote business excellence.

Every consumer is entitled to these rights. If you believe one of them has been breached, you can file a complaint with us free of charge.
Right to Basic Needs
Access to essential goods and services: adequate food, clothing, shelter, health care, education, public utilities, water and sanitation.
Right to Safety
Protection against products, production processes and services that are hazardous to health or life.
Right to Information
The facts needed to make the right choice, and protection from misleading advertising and labelling.
Right to Choose
A variety of goods and services at competitive prices, with satisfactory quality assurance.
Right to Voice Out
Consumer interests considered in government policy and in the development of goods and services.
Right to Redress
Fair judgement, including compensation for misleading trade descriptions, poor quality or unsatisfactory services.
Clean & Safe Environment
To live and work in an environment that is not harmful to present and future generations.

The knowledge and skills to choose well and to practise consumer rights and responsibilities.
