The Chairman of the Selangor State Standing Committee on Islam, Consumers and Halal Industry, YB Tuan Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni officiated the Selangor State Consumer Carnival 2022 Celebration which took place at Central i-City, Shah Alam today.
He said, the Selangor State Consumer Carnival Celebration 2022 is in line with the National Consumer Day Celebration with the theme of the celebration is ‘Consumer Digitalization’. Therefore, the focus of filling programs/ activities during the Selangor consumer month celebration this year is to produce ‘Smart and Arif Selangor Consumers’ in the era of digital transactions, this focus is very much in line with this year’s theme of Consumer Digitalization, “he said.
He explained that the Selangor Consumer Carnival held on 19 and 20 March 2022 at Central I-City Shah Alam from 10 am to 10 pm with various interesting content such as Consumer Pocket Talk, Consumer Digital Forum: Halal Cakna Consumers, Consumer Quiz, Selangor Healthy Consumers : Zumba & Aerodance in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth & Sports (KBS), Small Consumers: Children’s Coloring Activities. users in real-time, delivering usability info interactively and casually.
This approach aims to attract consumers’ interest and commitment to consumerism in order to produce ‘SELANGOR WISE CONSUMERS’ and ‘WISE CONSUMERS’. Selangor, Friday Sermon Reading with the theme of consumer awareness was delivered throughout the mosque on 18 March 2022 (Friday), Selangor Consumer Fun Walk (SCFW) on 1 April 2022 (Friday) at 8 pm at the Sepang Circuit and Price Catcher Application Literacy Advocacy and Selangor Consumer Carnival .
“It is my hope that such strategic involvement and cooperation can be maintained and continued as a joint effort to strengthen consumer education. “I also encourage the involvement of cooperation from private agencies such as the Sepang International Circuit which is also involved in the Selangor Consumer Fun Walk program at the Sepang Circuit on April 1, 2022.
The Selangor branch of the National Consumer Action Council (MTPN) also participated during the carnival where they introduced a booth related to the application “Idenfic” (No Way Scam!) Where this program helps consumers to avoid and reduce the problem of being cheated by the merchants.
Apart from that, a Forum entitled “Cyber Consumer Rights” was also held which was one of the events of the National Consumption Human Rights Carnival Series 2022 organized by the Selangor Department. The host of the forum was Lin Ying, vice -president of the Klang branch of the State Legislative Assembly.
Meanwhile, Preetha Muniandy, MTPN Special Officer together with MTPN representatives, also appeared in the forum to discuss topics related to the application “idenfic, No Way to scam!” to introduce how the “idenfic” mobile software application can help users avoid and deal with
the problem of being deceived by sellers.
