VKI, the Austria Consumers Association, is a non-profit organisation which was founded in 1960. It mission is to represent and strengthen the consumer interest by informing and educating consumers about their rights and responsibilities.
VKI has a long tradition of testing goods and services which results are published in its monthly magazine called ‘Konsument’. VKI’s information centres in Vienna and Innsbruck offer help and disppute resolution services to members. VKI also undertakes court cases on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs and Consumer Protection.
The Consumer Association VKI offers advice to consumers on a broad range of topics, including legal services, food, transport and telecoms. The results are published in a monthly magazine (KONSUMENT).
VKI helps to enforce collective consumer rights and takes legal action if necessary.
