Association of Consumers and Users (ACU) is the Italian Association of Consumers and Users, a non-profit organisation established since 1984.
ACU first started as an interest group to represent consumers against the food industry under the name AGRISALUS. It is now present in all twenty Italian regions through local branches, staffed by volunteers and experts who advise consumers on their rights on issues ranging from telecommunication services, transport, water, energy, e-commerce, advertising and the financial sector including insurance and banking.
ACU has been vocal in demanding the introduction of consumer group action in Italy. ACU is involved in working with numerous technical committees and certification bodies and sits on various Commissions of the Italian Standards Body, UNI.
